If you see the dyane construction you would think the guy who designed it had interests in an bolt factory... ;-)

I hope so Pete.
Don't really want to take the body off the chassis so I'm thinking that a couple of these might be enough: https://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/floor-re ... p-769.html ,with some localised repairs to the toeboard, well you've got to optimistic with these flamers haven't you  .

This area might demand more skill than I currently possess, these 'split pins' holding the bonnet on, how the flame am I going to get them out without wrecking that that lovely paint :?:

Well start to put oil on the pins and hinges. Not wd40 but an real pentrating oil. Repat this for several days and open and close the bonnet this let the oil got in. Then take the pins with a tong and tap that with an hammer outwards. If all fails the only possibilty is to cut open the body hinge tubes in the lenght, they can be rewelded with an copper rod in there. Good luck.

^^Like AZL57 said, oil, time and some movement. Too rush will make that little thing to major issue...

Try to use mix of acetone and ATF, it may help much better than WD40 or some cheap penetrating "snakeoil". I have tried, after heard that, and was very surprised how it works...

And, those spots looks very familiar on Dyane, if you want to make it nice, then start with windshield removal, there will be some or lots of rust under window seal. I have waiting same rusted area on my first Dyane, maybe next winter job..?Or 4x4 Dyane updae or 6x6 Range Rover, or...

Thanks Fer, i'll take my time.

Geert, you're right, it's always worse under the paint :)

Jasu, good tip on the potion, I'll see what Daisy has to offer  I'll be asking for advice on how to take the windscreen out later on. How's the new team member coming along :?:

^You mean our little Princess? Yes, very well. Growing like should, yesterday learned how to smile...

About windshield removal. It depends a lot about how hard the gasket is. If the gasket is soft enough, just make sure the gasket isn't grabbed to metal/glass, then slowly start to push glass out and with gentle help the gasket out of the frame. Some times have been succeed to get the glass out without breaking it, more times I have had some crackin with, but usually the glass has been near enough to scrap it anyway...

Kiitos, Jas.

Hey Geert, look what I found in our old woodshed,

ImageP1020579 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

must have ordered it for the van and then bought the bigger panel that has more of the lower bulkhead. May as well use it, bet it's awkward to fit though, without rolling the body. Before long this might end up as a big project, arrgh

Meanwhile, this lot awaits cleaning and refurbishment.

well, not the pistons and barrels, so there's some time saved  :)
