The older cars have black cowling tins, the other brown. I think it was in the ´60 ties, they changed the color. I should look it up if you are interested . Later-on the were of a sort of plastic.

Yes that was some rubbish. Was meant to be sound proofing but it disintergrated.

Yeah, coconut fibre and junk I heard . Anyway, here's my set up, P1030631 by Robndaisy, on Flickr P1030633 by Robndaisy, on Flickr P1030632 by Robndaisy, on Flickr and here's the youtube vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4Ql1f13apcStatic timing to start with, oil was circulated with plugs out, tested the oil pressure light as well, spark was checked, carb, cleaned gauze filter, took out drain plug and checked the float was moving, plug leads that came with it, a couple of used plugs, Bam! I'm well happy, a beer or three. .

Coming along nicely, but that airbox bracket stands out like tits on a bull!
