Thanks Fer, 8-)

He's the man you want to do a proper job, love the way he was checking that the arms were in specification.
I have bought some repair panels and hope to start cutting out the rot soon.
On firewood duty at the moment.

Makes it look so easy with that big spot welder.

It was whilst cleaning the oven that I realised it was time to start on this flamer.

Once the spotwelds were released, off it popped.

Aah! brazed joints, I like those.

What's this bracket for (do I need it?)

The spare wheel rests on it.

Cheers Fer,

I'm not planning on storing the wheel in the engine bay so that's a win. :)

You will store it in the garage? That will free up both space and weight for the holidays

:D
The spare will be in the back, putting some weight on the rear wheels.

Thought I'd take the rear wings off,

wish I hadn't, one bumpstop might be ok, the other bailed out a while ago.
Ah well, 'so it goes'.

The firewall joins the windscreen panel here. I removed what was left so I can get a reference. The plan is to locate the firewall before attacking the upper panels, inside and out.

This camera light and clamping bracket is very handy, extremely bright and no leads just rechargeable lithium batteries.

An initial trial fit, there's more of it to trim off though. Much thicker sheet, I guess to avoid having to press the stiffeners into it. Most of the holes are at least 1/2 a hole out. Ah well... ;)
I'll warn you in advance, the repairs may include pop rivets.

Just too mean to buy a decent Dyane Pete. :)

The driver's side shelf impersonating a colander. I can't patch that easily.

So I cut it out, just got to make a template and then just got to make up a piece and then just got to weld it in.
