So we pulled the engine and box out and Ken had a spare box so after swopping the calipers etc. back in it went. Drives well now.

Using a fast road to bed the rings to the barrels in the approved manner.

Done about 300 miles/ 500 km in it now so time for an oil change, re-torque the heads and check the valve clearances. Not sure if I like it though, it's more refined but I prefer the look of the 2cv :). Maybe it'll grow on me?

How does the dyane engine compare with that of a 2cv. Do you notice a difference?

What's the red thing under the bumper, an emergency stop button?

:D
The foglight that came with it was U/S, no good, looking for a slimline one, the same as I fitted to the 2cv.

Rog., I can't tell any difference except the Dyane is heavier so I'm still waiting to hit 70mph. I've had it knocking on the door but not yet. I've ordered a 107 jet and am hoping that might work. Also need the air pipe from the cowling to the air filter box to give me that supercharged feeling of being pushed back into my seat ;) .
I believe the Dyane gearbox has different ratios ?

yeah. I have a dyane combo in my old 2cv that is in storage. It used to sing at higher rpm :D Dyane is supposedly more arodynamic.

Dyane is faster, 2cv is stronger (the gearbox). I did put an dyane gearbox on a colleagues 2cv. It was very fast.

Hi Folks, yes I'm still here and still driving it, I'm retiring from work at the end of this week so I'll be able to spend more time finishing it and hopefully working on the charleston.
The trick will be living on the state pension as my sole means of income, the smokes and the beers may have to go but I'll carry on with the wild women!
