Oops, I appear to bought a '66 AK350......

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113288515157?ViewItem=&item=113288515157

My research says it should be 602cc M4 engine 12v with alternator, is that obvious from the listing ? (yep, I should have asked first....)

Would it be happy to takle a 350mile maiden trip or should I get a trailer....?

I don't know if it has an alternator but it can have an 12 volt dynamo. But someone might have put an altenator in... Nice car. Check the oil level and brakes. And drive it home... ;-)

Yes. It should have be M4, 12v out, alternator. It's not an M4 though: it looks like someone has fitted an early M28.

Gearbox isn,t original either. It should be an old one with a black sheetmetal lid and big drums in my opinion..

A 350 has the chassis, (bigger) suspension cans, engine and gearbox from the early <'63 Ami 6...

Ok, so more modern running gear, im ok with that....

Now marginally less concerned about driving 320 miles home.....

Interesting - 'that one'. It's been M28ified but they've kept the pedal box by creating that ridiculous exhaust, you might want to look at sorting that out. Post some pics of that exhaust when you get it home?

You should maybe point out to the seller that it hasn't been restored at all... they've built a modern car there and that's not the same thing.

I presume to keep it legal you'll be applying for a Q plate and not keeping it tax exempt ;)

Yes. The later gearbox wasn't used until Oct 1967 on the AK350, 7 months before changing from M4 to M28, (& 7 months before any other A-series had the later gearbox).
