I have seen a flipfront which was made from 2 doorhinges (from a 2cv) welded to the headlamp bracket.. It looked very simple and it worded very well.

I have hinges, but they are not attached in this picky. I can sort that end. Its attaching the wings to the bulkhead that had me stumped. The buttons may fix it.

I'll post an image when I'm next at the farm. Its twenty miles from where I live, so I can just pop out. :)

20 miles down some of those lanes can be 'white knuckle' for ages :) When we lived out in East Village with a Merc. 507 D, i got quite good at facing down ordinary car drivers, only reversing for tractors, feed/oil lorries...and of course the 'bewildered'  .
good luck with the front end :) .

The ride is becoming a bit of a chore. I'm riding my BMW, so always get some fun out of it. Its probably 2 miles to get from home to motorway, 14 miles M5/A30, then 4 miles of A and b roads. I probably enjoy the later bit the best. The locals tend to recognise the bike and wave. They have apparently, been asking what has happened to the funny car!

If I don't finish it soon, I will also have a barn find on my hands. :D

Ok, so bike is not running as it should at the moment. So time to stop pissing about with the Shedouin and get it put back together and get it MOTed. 8-)

The metal ones were on early landrovers, the rubber ones on the mehari... ;-)
The metal ones with springs were the same as citroen used to fit the Radioen in the 2cv...

Thanks guys :)

I've seen all those :D

What would like to do is have the mechanism inside the car. I bought a pair of the button latches as I like the idea of the bonnet clicking locked. The problem is that most of the latches i like, are designed to work with a 90 degree motion and not a parallel motion.

Still, no hurry, MOT first. :D
