That's a good tip. :) Thanks, I'll try it.

Edit

Its been so hot!

I didn't go t'farm on Thursday and Friday as I was hot and thought it would be a good idea not to disturb the paint.

It was the local classic car show at Powderham Castle over the weekend, and I ended up staying and doing some quality control on the cider they had in the beer tent. :D

Awesome weekend. 8-)

Some good progress on the Shed recently. :D
The floor subframe is painted and the new rear floor is back down. Front floor is cleaned up, patched and painted.

Currently in the process of replacing the steering rack, arms and hubs with ones I bought at the national last year.

Going out tomorrow to see if I can find a 3/4 drive socket for the drive shaft nuts. :)

I had to order a 3/4 drive 32mm socket for drive shaft nuts, but there off now. :D

New rack being rebuilt and installed today I hope. ;)

The replacement rack is rebuilt and installed. :)

Plan to replace the arms today, but need to install the rubber stops first as they were missing! These should arrive today along with a variety of goodies from ECAS. Goodies include M7 bolts to attach handbrake mechanism. This was bolted before, but had M6 bolts with nuts through the capture nuts on the chassis.

I'm going to need to get the large castle nuts that hold the arm on lightened correctly and I don't have the correct tool. Any tips please. :)

Doesn't have to be as complicated as this^^, just enough pegs like this https://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/suspensi ... 7cacbdc49b to engage and a suitable nut or old socket welded on for your torque wrench.

Thanks Rob

I'll have a nosey around the farm workshop to see what I can come up with.

If I recall, I saw a box of oil filter removers. Perhaps I can adapt one. :)

I wonder if it will be the elegant tool I envisage, or a bodge.
