I can bring you up to speed on the shopping list. Speeduino (this has a MAP sensor built in) Arduino TPS 36-1 trigger wheel. Hall effect (HE) sensor And progress Phase one is ignition Trigger wheel attached to back of fan pulley. Manifold drilled for MAP connection Bracket made for TPS HE sensor bracket made up but not fitted as have to remove luminition to do this. To be continued .... |

What triggereheel are you going to use?? 36-1... I know a guy who uses bycicle chain-tootwheels in an ami 8.. There are are chaintoothwheels with 36 tooth. Taking 1 tooth out put it at the back of the fan and you're done.. However I would recommend drilling the flywheel.. Much larger diameter so it is easier to pick up the signal... |

Geo I've always liked the idea that you drilled your flywheel. Have you any images so I can see the approach you took? |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOdvMAT6-6o&sns=em I measured the circumference, made a cad- drawing with 36 markes on equal distance. Glueded the paper to the flywheel. Drilled 35 holes free hand ✋ and it workes.. Everything with the engine in te car... I don,t like the vgs solution. If you have axial play at your crankshaft your signal is gone or you're sensor.. Putting it on the head of the flywheel it always workes.. |

The bike passed its MOT yesterday, and I've pretty much stopped grinning whilst riding it. It needs the cooling fan fixing, but I've found as long as I go fast, the temperature stays down. ...... Geo, I'm so temped to go down the fly wheel route. however, I don't know that I trust myself to drill it in situ, or even at all. Anyone know the correct/preferred method of cutting teeth into the flywheel? |
