Thanks Pete. I've started reading the build.

@Joolz does suggest he resolved the issue with a 6mm spacer, and mentions the shorter thread. But doesn't really say, if it was satifactory. :)

Though, I am only on page 19 of 54. :D

I did have some “arms” laser cut from 20mm steel, reduced with lots of grinding with an long ht bolt and rod end.
Will dig it out and do a photo also got a quote for longer wheel studs, but at £8 each didn’t go that route.

Unfinished, the taper foot from a junk arm is welded in a rectanglar hole.
Welding not approved fot steering parts, but who will see it:(

I've ordered some 6mm plate for the spacers. I picked up a pre used drill press the other day, so will be careful cutting out the middles and edges. Then I will have some scrap alloy to practice tig on. :D

Iv'e designed and 3D printed a template for the spacer.

I will probably print templates to fit in the wheel stud holes to aid centering the pilot drill. Then I think I will bolt the template to the Alloy, and work my way around with the drill. Then finally file it to the finished shape.

Then ... I need to buy some tyres ....

Thought my birthday had come early! :D

A chap contacted the local group to say he had some 2CV spares to clear out from the garage. Been there there a good while now, and free to whoever wants it, or it goes to recyling.

So I trundle up to Okehampton from Exeter. About 30 miles. And pick up an orange box!

2 alternators, 2 carbs (one is single venturi), 2 fuel pumps. 2 fan belts. 3 hub caps! Brake shoes, brake cylinder. What looks to be a brake centering tool made from a cut up drum. A cut off gearbox primary shaft to use as a clutch centering tool. And a multitude of other bits and bobs rattling around in the bottom of the box. :D

It's not a box you would want to carry to far!

I will add to the list, if I find anything interesting. :D

The single venturi carb, what would that fit?
