Post Re: My Beduino
Exhaust started blowing again!

So I've dug out another manifold? This one has signs of previously blowing badly. The dull, pitted area shown in the images were covered in carbon.

I need to file it back so that if completely flat, with no signs of pitting, yet still retain the same angle, so that it meets the head correctly.

I'll prepare this manifold and fit it, then inspect the one that's on there currently, with a view to making that one good and refitting.

Just have to wait for the large file I've ordered to arrive. :D

Been designing a water tank with submersible pump for the lpg system.

I suspect its going to be about as much use as a chocolate teapot, but its fun designing it.

File comment: As posted previously, the replacement manifold has seen better days, but hopefully, I've recovered it and not taken to much metal off.

File comment: The manifold on the Shed is definitely past its best now. :(

Loose the heads, torque them to 10Nm, bolt on the manifold than torque them to 20Nm.This should normally fit the heads ok in position to the manifold.

Yeah, did occur to me, but apart from the manifold, I don't think this engine has been disturbed since the factory. :)

Big issue here is that the exhaust manifolds have eroded!

Manifold is back on and engine is running.

Still suspicious its chuffing, but may just be listening to hard.

Need to drive it somewhere (shopping), to hear if its improved from before it blew.

However, before I drive to far, I need some new wood for my bonnet.

Wickes :)
