Post Me and my 2CV
My wife took some photos of me and my 2CV the other day. I'm so proud of my new car!

Still lots of detailing and minor things to do on my 2CV since I bought it about 3 weeks ago.

I'm trying to get it detailed for the big car show this coming weekend.

This week, I removed the rear bumper which was painted white, peeling and resprayed it a hammertone silver finish to match the front. It turned out exceptionally glossy considered it came from a spray can. I guess the temperature and humidity was just right!

It looks better than the front but still does not match it so I guess I'll end up painting the front bumper to now match the rear!

I also spent about two hours fabricating some L brackets with my chop saw, measuring, drilling to mount to the rear bumper for my Tennessee number plate. So I will be compliant.

I figured I could get by pulling it out from from under the seat for maybe a week if I got pulled over by saying I have not figured out a way to mount it yet. But figured by now it's been long enough. I actually got passed by a police officer the other day who didn't even bother to stop me!

I fixed some of the loose interior bits like the bulkhead insulation which has come loose. I had to pick up a hot glue gun today to finish the repairs.

Still waiting on my silencer, exhaust clamp, oil and air filter which I ordered last week.

I guess I'll take care of that after the car show.

Once I get the car all cleaned up and bumper back on the car, I'll post some more pics.

I considered mounting it in place of the rear French plate but didn't think the rear boot would open unless I trimmed some off the top and bottom of the US number plate!

Facinated by your 1997 picture. Was that taken in the UK?

I traveled with the Fiat X 1/8 UK club from the UK to Italy in 1997. That photo was taken in France.
In 1998 went back visited Scotland
1999, England and Wales
2000 England to Italy, then back to Scotland.

I'd love to go back again one of these days. I loved the UK.

Eventually I will get all my photos scanned and uploaded. You know, that was back when people still used film!

My European trip:
