Oh Shit! Done it again, gone and bought an old Ami Break and due to collect tomorrow - watch this space as Scooba Steve may well be back on!

Correct! The M4 is veeeery slow uphills which is why I have been asking about M28 heads etc - can you swop out an M4 directly for an M28 without much issue with the gearbox?

A good M4 must be almost equal to an M28, at low rpm a good M4 outruns the M28.. Only at topspeed the M28 suddenly awakes...

It should work fine as long as you use the M4 clutchplate... and you need an old 3 finger clutchhouse...

Well spent all afternoon tinkering with the beast - wheels and blind are now a pleasing shade of black, fitted points assist and re-timed it and adjusted brakes so it now goes and stops really well - greased the greasy bits and splashed an amount of Kurust on the parts that shouldn't be rat look. Door locks and seat rubbers tomorrow - will post some more pics then....
