a really decent anvil flamed by some idiot, painted up a a garden ornament and then put in an auction house where muggins here bought it years ago. Oh well, it'll have to do 'cos I can't see any way of properly dressing up the face.

I don't think there's gonna be enough room to fit everything in here. These flamers on Youtube over in the states always seem to have loads of space for their 'shops'. I'm not bitter...just twisted :mrgreen: .

Yes i know that problem always the need for space....Should that type of vise not be able to turn on that pointed food?
For the anvil couldn't it be milled a bit, or is it to hard?

The leg on the vice transmits the force to a socket or floor plate. That's so there's no chance of damaging the thread. Ideal when you're walloping hot metal etc. I've set it up just for the photo :).
The anvil's face is nice and hard, just as it should be, it could be surface ground. I won't spend the money though.

When I take the van to work, I have to turn a sharp 90* uphill in first gear.
The driveshafts do not like this at all! On the way down I can slip the clutch which helps. I can't see a way of fitting modern driveshafts because of the existing gearbox output :?: Hope I'm explaining this correctly so it makes sense! What are my options :?: :)
