I think the ones on the bottom shaft can be a bit pricey. But normally, they wouldn't need to be replaced because they are constantly in oil.

I did have a link to where I bought mine. I'll see if I can find it. Ken supplied me with part numbers. ;)

I bought some shims from here

Of course, I haven't actually fitted any of it yet! ;) Perhaps you will inspire me.

Yes, it just needs a little woodstove first.

We once did see an original HY camper from the 60s. It had a cast iron coal stove in. The roof of the van was completly black with soot at one side ;-)

I know that from the Sustenpass meeting in switzerland. After the first turn it was back to first grear all the way up some 8 kilometers. Every now and then passed by angry drivers in modern car who could not overtake in the tunnels ;-)

Once I went up Porlock hill , Devon, in My Citroen AMI 8 Break.
I was on holiday with two friends.
The car was packed with three people, three suitcases and a lot of foto-equipment.
It was no problem to get up and down the hill, but only in first gear.
It was hot than and several cars with watercooled engines had te stop at the layby with boiling radiators
