I think that the problem I had with the fan cutting one of the dynamo cables was because I had routed the leads incorrectly. Down near the engine mounting nuts, at the bottom of the cooling shroud, is cable tab and in the side of the shroud (on the lefthand side as you are looking at it) is a grommet hole. I will re-route new cables this way.

When I removed the armature my first thought was, 'that's flamin' clean in there!'. I'd forgotten that I've had the engine on the kitchen table  . It's all been too much and taken too long  .

There's shiny! Dynamo wires now in conduit and running across the bottom of the cooling shroud.

It really shouldn't come down to crossing fingers and hoping for the best  :)

Nice one, we had 57 with the same problem on the meeting today. He had possibly mixed up 2 types of dynamos and regulators. He found a new one in the parts market but could not fix it because one was screws and the other with nuts and some were missing ;-)

The driver's side required the same lower lug plus a repair where the wing mirror used to sit.

It's been a while since the flamer had mudflaps.

And that completes the bodywork repairs, started off mocking the brazed artisan repairs and now I'm a firm believer :D .

Not at all pretty or skilful, but solid for a few more years.

What I don't have.^^^

What I do have,

ImageP1020206 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

need to trim the green tube a bit for starters....

By the way, I note that Flickr will be restricting free accounts to a 1000 images from January 2019. I'll sure miss trying to use up my Tetrabyte  . Flamin' Tw*ts.
