What was left of the old door seal just pulled out easily.

Just checking that the new one fits ok. It goes in very easily, I'll lash some Waxoyl on the door 'cos it can't harm.
I'd read that fitting seals to 2CV doors is a mission so are the old timers different?

The big fault people make is to bend the profiles over all the lenght. Originallly the are only bend in at the ends. The rubbers are slided in sideways. And yes waxoil or wd-40 help sliding the seals in and give rust protection.
Also put un waxoil between the holders and the doors a forgotten point that rusts happily. First brush the areas out with a steel brush.

Got the new seal in OK, typical Flamer, seal fouling on the drip/gutter channel so the door must be misaligned which is not suprising given the thumps the van has had over the years. front bottom corner of the door is twisted outwards so I'll have to try and wring it back in line and probably trim the seal edge. Only adjustment for the door is up and down :) .

Daisy's been Moth trapping(you need so many for a decent meal though), This is a Buff Tip Phalera bucephala

The Driver's door fiited really well apart from dropping down too far. This 'temporary' bracket sorted that.

The previous owner had used his Pop riveter to hold the door cards in place.

This bit needed extra support, love pop rivets when used appropriately ;) .

The door stay brackets were originally spotwelded to the crossmember.
Time for some more paint.

I was adviced to drop a nut in the hinge to prevent the door dropping too far .

Did you also enjoy "The Tunderbirds" ?

Your temporary bracket was also used by Citroen as a repair. They took the ones from rear van doors. ;-)
