Re: Van repairs  Took the other head off, which in my world involves removing the rocker gear shafts with heat, tested the tubes, ok, re-assembled the engine, ran it up, leakfree...for now, thanks everyone. Ken if you'd like the rods, let me know your address and I'll pop 'em in the post .

Re: Van repairs Sound easy enough, hope the engine will stay leak free after your repair.
It is a good tip for anyone who will come across the same problem in future .

Ammeter moves a little, switch works, no sign of life at the box, fed up now, will troubleshoot tomorrow .

Re: Van repairs Checked everything again and ran it. Need to let it warm up properly. I don't know why I expected the flamer to leap into life straightaway, it's still trying to hibernate. Will clean the box contacts.
