No apologies for these pix from the Algarve, much easier heaving four tonnes of rock than welding tissue paper metal.

He's a good lad is Pete. The wall compares favourably with some of the neighbours', only 5.5 metres by 1.5 and three days to construct. Keen to get back on the van now :) .

Very nice, Rob,
best not to let those 'civil engineer wallies' loose on this type of project... ;)

Impressive gabion work that is :) .

Ah well, I've put the tee shirt away and overalls and thermals on, back to work today.

While Smiffy's soldering away to hopefully save his fuel gauge, I've started to plumb up the flamer's fuel line.
The tank pick up has lost something off the end but luckily on http://2cvco.canalblog.com/archives/201 ... 44215.html are some excellent pix of wot I haven't got...

I considered fitting a filter from a chainsaw/strimmer fuel tank but it's too much faff, I'll rely on the inline filter to protect the carb. (Photo shot on top of a soon to be redundant maroon UK/EU passport, I believe we're going back to navy blue  don't get me started on the idiocy that is our Brexit process ).

Rob,
that 'stack of washers', which served as a filter on the early cars, does tend to clog and restrict or even halt progress.
Your idea of relying on an external filter ( before the pump? ) sounds like a good plan to me.
.
p.s. Don't worry about the maroon passports.
I haven't had a valid passport for some years now, but decided to get hold of a maroon/EU one before the introduction of the rather sad 'are cuntry' blue variety. ;)

I would prefer a blue one!
I am also for a Nexit .
There are things going on in EU that frighten me.

You can try fit the filter of a modern 2cv.

Fer, good tip, I'll re-visit it once I've got the van on the road :) .
Geo, I try to restrict my exposure to the Media but even over here there's the 'Rip the sky apart' noise when a Tornado or Typhoon barrels through the valley. Keeps one in touch with the modern world I suppose, I prefer the C130's, something more friendly about a Hercules(quieter and no bombs) :) .
Geert, it's Neoliberalism I'm uneasy with, I apologise for moaning about our Brexit, this forum should be a safe haven :) .
Hopefully this weekend(looking dry at the moment) I'll get the fuel line done, the front brake lines and the accelerator pedal mounting made. Oh yeah and Daisy wants more firewood processed. Half the battle of life the other side of 60 is fighting cynicism. I hope I'm winning, but I'm reminded of that quote from the Sopranos:'Some people are so far behind in the race that they actually believe they're leading' ;) .
