Yes it is 74 model AC 084
Spoke to Contrôle Technique today regarding the rust. They don not care about rust on parts bolted on to the body. It will only be noted. The chassis must be rust free including floors, firewall, door post, sills and the inner rear of the cabin. Good news.

Ours, with side windows, was first reg Dec '74. Chassis 13AK6743

it seems that irony is alive and well, dwelling in the corridors of Contrôle Technique, judging by the state of the last couple of cars which I've had to sort out "fresh from la belle France". :lol:

Perhaps the trick is that if they cannot actually see the rusty bits, because of those bits of old fridge carefully pop-rivetted over them, then all is hunky dory?

One Acadiane even arrived equipped with a friction damper front axle, despite the 'restorer' having sent pictures to the purchaser of the 3 Acadianes he'd broken to source suitable parts to put one good one together.

I guess it was inevitable that he'd also put the wrong brake fluid in, so that the guy who flew out to collect it had to drive most of the way back using only the handbrake... :(
