The boot floor got some welding from the underside:

Some seam sealer was applied:

And some red-oxide was brushed on:

This red-oxide should help it through the winter.....

I'm back.....

I did what most young car modifiers do.... Jack the wheel up to see what the fitment looks like, and to imagine what it
could possibly look like slammed to the floor.... Which it probably will never do

Looks quite cool I think. Cool

So I decided to ruin this by making some caster corrected ans narrowed arms....

-3cm from each side

Ian, I know you're lurking, here's how It was done!

How to adjust caster for low riding on your 2CV suspension arms:
First, clean off the grease and dirt.

ImageIMG_2829 by Max Wyer, on Flickr

Mark a line to cut around the arm in order to separate the king pin housing from the arm. Note the line cut perpendicular to the first line to show where it was positioned originally. Make this line long if you want to narrow the arms.

Cut around the arm on the line. Don't cut too deep, only about 2-3mm. And smack with a hammer

ImageIMG_2835 by Max Wyer, on Flickr

Smack with the hammer until it falls off. You wouldn't know at what position it sat if this line wasn't there. if you want to, make a line around the arm parallel to the last cut however much you'd like to narrow the arms. Cut on this line until it falls off. Put the king pin mount back onto the end and rotate it forwards, the most that you'll need to turn it is about 7mm (for a low 2CV).

Weld it up and paint it. Here you can see the waste metal that you're left with.

Hope that made sense... it was so fun that I didn't take many useful photos... Haha

Haha. If you meant me :-) Such a cool look to this buggy. I love them lowered but I love the original suspension too.

Haha, I meant another Ian (Ian henderson) who can see what I've posted but doesn't have an account. Thanks for the feed back though Ianredspecial. It's much appreciated! I thought I was talking to myself for the last dozen posts.
