Post Re: Max's blue 2 2CV
Shaping up well, looks like you're doing a pretty sound job to me. I could never really be arsed to do all that work so I must too my hat to those who do!

That said, why bother doing all that if you feel the need to raise it up to get over bumps? In my opinion, as you want a low 2cv, have a low 2cv but build into it the ability to take a few knocks. Ideally you need to protect the axle bolts, damper mounts, spring cans and fuel tank. Then you can just drag it over speed bumps and not worry or have to compromise all that work you've done.

Max's problem is he lives in Derbyshire, and low doesn't really cope too well with the state of our roads.

Yes that is true. :x Heavy duty sump and suspension guards do seem to be the way forward.

Is that why you parked so far away from that kerb in Harrogate Louis...?

As I remember it I was at nearly 90 degrees to kerb, and that was just out of irreverence..

We removed some paint from the running boards...

Then flipped it over and tackled the underside, welding the other sides of the floors and sills and generally tidying things up:

Well.... Stock 602 for the moment I think, until I get fed up of it and when/if the insurance goes down. When that time comes I'll see that I can do with BMW moteur.

My dad is planning to put one in his Bambooo which should keep us entertained. This will still take a while because st the moment he wants a Merc Sprinter
