We finaly got the rearaxle hooked up to the gearbox. Thanks to Geo's help to clean up the gerarbox brakre drum. We had to loosen the axle to get the flector fixed. For the first time we did get the car out on it's own wheels after been on stands for a very long time.

strange coincidence my left rear wing was rotten and badly repaired by one of the previous owners. And therefore it didn't fit well. Last weekend i found a NOS left rear wing in superbe condtion. Great to find such an 90 years old part for a very reasonable price. :D

After closing up 22 holes in the aluminium dahboard with aluminium rods rivited in and polishing of all oxydation. It was time to "'bouchonner". This is the making of little circular scratches as decoration. This is done by a kork (hence the name from bouchon) in the drill press. First make a jig on your drill with lines drawn at a desired distance. You clamp a piece of wood along this lines and present the aluminium piece under the drill. Put some valve grinding paste on it then press the turning kork on it (not to hard). Then slide the piece half a just made circle and press again. The next circle has to overlap the first partly. An so on. The next row has to overlap the first partly but also ofset half a circle. It's like laying rooftiles. It's not hard to do but you have to concentrate because an error is not easy to undo. After the work your have to wash of the black dirt with kitchen paper drenched in petrol. But carefully to avoid scratching your work.

Have at last found the solution for the badly repaired rear wing. The new one i found didn't fit and had a different shape. :(
We had already had to straighten the chassis rear member. I think the car had an accident and the did alter/repair the wing to fit again. Now the chassis is straight the wingshape was wrong again. It was sitting 3 cm lower then the running boards. So i cut a slit in the wing and welded a part in. The fit is ok now. So i can weld up the rest and clean it.
