Hardly..  )Today the Volvo was on again. The steering lock was about dead. So we order some parts and i started to take it apart. I succeded but than they did send us the wrong direction indicator switch so we couldn't finish the job. Also the new lock had screw on connectors and the old one spade ones... grgrgr. |

When i drove off from work a very heavy rainstorm started. The poor speedo drive wipers could hardly cope with the water. To wipe more i had to drive faster but as i coulnd't see much that was not an option. All windows steaming up and i could not use the demister because the heaterflap under the bonnet was open... So i had to use the hand window wiper inside.

The old ones had only a demister since 1957. If you switch the rest of the heater of it will keep clean the windscreen in front of the driver. For the rest it's a bit decorative

Had one front brake taken apart, as the car was pulling to the left on braking. All seemed ok but very dusty. So i cleaned that up, will see if it did help. |

It did help but i think the front axle will need some work or replacement as the wheels are getting wobbly on speedbumps... Other stupid story. Was getting the rainmeter down of the roof edge as it was stopped working. As usual there was a spider nesting in it and it spun together the mecanism. All cleaned and put back together ia was bolting the mast back to the house. One of the boltholes wasn't centered behind the hole so i tapped it with the socket wrench. The socket came of, fell on the conservatory roof rolled down, jumped over the gutter and it disappeared in the garden pond...  haven't found it yet...

Aren't the steering arms on the old ones different from the newer ones? They look different on my -58 than on the rest of my 2CV's. |

Fer, A strong magnet will do the trick. Attache a string to it and go fishing in the pond. I did it several times during my career as a gardener. One of the blockes I had employed, had the habit of loosing pieces of tools in ponds . Time and time again. Most of them I could fish out of the water, but there are still some left in different ponds around Venlo.
