Is your heater good?

My car starts well in the cold too, it hasn't got the amazing age of yours though!

Well it keeps the windscreen rather clean. But for the rest isn't that warm, it just keeps the frost out.. ;-)

Grill muff on my car is on for about 10 months of the year. Summer temperature rarely get above 15 degrees.

Did put the green 57 back together again with it's rebuild original engine. Only one of the front engine supports made my life difficult. It wouldn't take the big bolt. It took me about an hour to get the stupid thing fitted right again. Never had a problem with it, just plonk the engine in and fit the bolts????

Brought the green 57 back to life. After adjusting the ignition there was a spark but nothing happened. Tested the fuel pump ok??? So i opened the carburettor. The petrol in there didn't smell as petrol anymore and it was turned brown like whisky. So drained it out cleaned the jets, pump a few strokes with the handpump and bolted everything up again. Pulled the starter button and it started right away. Lots of smoke but after a few minutes that disappared. Must have been the oil that i put in the combustion chambers. Fine, i did put then and the grille cover on. Started to drive a little bit on the parking lot. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRang a lot of noise, engine of again??????? It turned out that the bottom bolt of the grille mesh was a bit to long and pushed the tin up, that was hit by the metal fan, made a hell of a noise. Only the idle is to high. I have to check the damper that isn't moving freely enough to let the carburettor flap go back all the way.
Was at the upholsterer next who made me a set of new felt heater hoses in 10 minutes.. ;-)
