Yes I think the metal was better then. Mine was Portuguese built I think, the rust is a constant effort really.

The grey one is gorgeous, the yellow is my favourite though.

He has also a blue 83. He's the first owner... Bought it new in Belgium which was cheaper then buying one in Netherland. It has been restored lately and looks also gorgeus..... Pics please...

Ok here is it. For your info portuguese are the worst. The biggest problem caused by transporting new chassis unprotected from france to portugal by sea. Then they stocked the chassis outside the factory in the weather. After that the finished cars back over sea to france and elsewere also unprotected. A friend had one that broke through its chassis after 3 years...Never seen that with an old model.

Did re-adjust the contact breaker points of the yellow 57. The coil was heating up after longer trajects. It also turned out the mass screw of the condesor was coming loose. It runs well again. Did replace one bolt of the fan grille. It kept going loose. So now it has an M8 one cut in. Grille fixed the test with the starting handle did function again.. ;-)

i revived the green 57 totay. Repaired the ripped fuellline, the pump didn't work a valve was stuck. There was an oil leak somewhere under the left side cylinderhead. It drips on the exhaust and that stinks a lot. For the time being i did put a tin plate between the exhaust and the head. So oil will run left or right of the damper. To find the leak i have to take the engine out...
The car started immediatly after 1 year in the garage.

again i forgot to close the oilfiller cap. The car was again dripping of oil all over. But as i didn't drive fast it didn't go further than the oil filter. But the black rubbish came streaming out of the grille...
So i drove to the carwash. It cleaned up nicely, at last i did put on an "drying?" product. Looked like milk but it smelled like vanilla....bleeeehhh.The car dried very well but the smell was still there...hope it's gone tomorrow.
