Post Re: AZL 1957
Almost finished the repairs of the damaged windscreen frame of my 83 deuche. Coming home i did reconnect the original fuel line of the ivory 57. I noticed 2 times now if i did run a longer trip on "high" speed (80 - 90 kmH) the gears started cracking when changed. So i had a go in opening the filler plug of the gearbox. It was blocked really bad. But open the oil was disguisting. Brown, with grey foam on it and fluid like water.... It even didn't smell like gearoil anymore. So that calls for an oil change soon.. They oil looked as old as the car ...

Had a moment left in the sun this evening to get the old oil out and new in. The old was very dirty and fluid. Had a problem again to open the filler. The stupid seems to block itself every time. But then i won't loose it ;-)

Yesterday i did put the windscreen back in my 1983 2cv after repairing the bay. Only in one edge the rubber doesn't get good flat to the metal. Have to look in to that.

The 83 is out on the road since a few days and had a lot of rain and thunderstorms gone down on it. So far the car is still dry...hope it stays that way. I also made the gutter under the rear window 2 cm wider with a bit of bicycle tube rubber glued on there.. So the water does run down on the outside of the boot lid rubbers. So the boot well should stay dry now too.

Bearings from Cassis ?? ( Citroparts) .
I have SKF bearings in my AZU now, it failed MOT because of bearings from Citroparts .
And it even did not 3000 KM since I fitted them brand new !

No a little better, it still were the originals in a 1978 front axle i have in the car. I did drive over 100.00.kms with it and i don't know how many kms the car had that the axle came from. I ordered a set of SKF ones, not cheap but good. I am going to try to get old ones out tomorrow. The new ones are still in the mail.

Got the bearings out at last, on the first attempt we broke the tool. So chancged it a bit en rewelded it and now it worked pffffffffffffffffff.
So now waiting for the new ones. It's strange but the old ones didn't look bad so were that noise came from?

Hope not. Yesterday evening the new bearings got in very easy. So today the rest of the front can be reassembled. Than i can start at the rear brakes to find the problem there.
