Re: AZL 1957
So had the front reassembled and the car turned around in the garage. Took the brakes apart. Didn't look to bad only dirty. Cleaned and greased everything. One brake shoe was a bit stuck by rust for the rest i couldn't see much problems,.Have to bleed one brake as the pistion dropped out when i was cleaning. So it's ready to go back to the MOT.

The 83 wasn't running properly is suspected an leakage of air into the inlet manifold. So did a test with brakecleaner. It turned out that the carb i remounted yesterday had loosend it's nuts a little???? Very strange after tightening them it's running very smooth again.

Re: AZL 1957
Got the 57 out to go to an oldtimermeeting on sunday. After more than a half year in the garage. A pull at the starter button and after a short while it started right away. And people are so often afraid for 6 volt electrics.... I didn't even put a charger on the battery al that time.... They are great those old cars....

Re: AZL 1957
The 57 has a water leak around his windscreen rubber, after a light shower the floor was very wet. But last night there were a few very heavy rainstorms and to my surprise there wasn't a drop in the car??? It is have a gearbox trouble as soon as the engine is warmed up after an 10 kms. Then the 2/3rd gears start cracking. I think the syncro rings a gone. I tried double clutch and the gears could be changed without noise. A friend who works at an oil company advised me to try a mixture off 2/3rd w140 gearoil and 1/3 ATF oil (non synthetic). Will give it a try soon.

Washing out the shit in the syncro hub could also cure this, at least it did on my M4 box. I washed it out by brushing terpentine in the sycro cone over and over again and in between blown the syncro cone out with air, untill there was no gray shit coming out any more.

Re: AZL 1957
could be possible too, i did change the oil recently and the old oil in there was terrible...looked more like brown water than gearoil. For the moment it does have normal gearoil in since a few months. Did you take the box apart for that cleaning?
