I have an ahoooga horn.

When I'm passing, the kids up the road shout beep beep until I sound it. Sometimes, they will race across the block to hear it again. They always win!! :D

That's the same as the wedding car ones. People love them, it's so funny. Great for putting nervous brides in a better humour too.

My headlamps were working badly, so i had a check just now. Turned out i left the mass cable between engine and the lamps bar on the other engine that came out. So i made a new one. All working fine now. Car is performing well. It even has smoother suspension than the other 57. It littarly glides over speed bumps like a boat an a wave, just a gentle movement up and down of the body. Other cars that follow at the same speed are launched... ;-)

This morning wanted to change over from the 57 to the 83 but it didn't want to start after 9 months in the garage. I turned the key and it didn't manage more than one BEUUUH.
So i hooked it up to the charger and went home. After 7 hours i went back and now it started . The 83 got new headlamps as the originals started to rot. I now will drive 1 or 2 weeks, so i hope everything is working when i have to go to the MOT.
Have driven the green 57 to work all week, it used about 2 litres of petrol..

Went to the MOT with the 83 this morning. Car did pass. Only there is a little hole in the chassis. If the weather is ok i will weld it up tomorrow.

The chassis is patched up. 9x3 cm hole. There came a handfull of dirt and rust out of there. I think the dirt kept that area moist su the rust had a chance. But all is ok again.

Had a dynometer in the 57 and now also in the 83. It turned out that it has 2 to 3 times the accelleration power of the 57. Will see if we can have an other test with Geo's BMW monster...

Just ordered 2 sets of new skf wheelbearings for the rear wheels. The others got a bit noisy after 211.000kms. And it might also be caused by the grease that has that age too? Who knows. :geek:

It took me 45 minutes this morning to get the drums of the 83. Than it took me 1,5 hours to get the bearings out of the drums pffff. With the original tool i had to put a 1,5 meter steel tube on that and i still had to use all my force and weight to turn the rings out... The were a little rusted at the end were they meet the bearing. The grease on the bearings smelled like very old engine oil of the 5hp ;-)
So now wait for the new skf's to arrive.
