Post Re: The Nameless AZU
Looking back down this post the last pics show the main bulkhead panel in, a bit more happened before the work stopped. The vent/lower windscreen area got replaced..

I knew the van body needed some work; the waist rails were missing, the inner wings were a bit lacy, the rail above the rear doors had fractured in the middle, a more detailed inspection of the body commenced :?

Not so good. I'd hoped to be able to patch most of it, the cab floor for e.g. these were new panels, as were the cills but on cleaning them up they were rotten - same reason as the bulkhead; sat there full of water...

Happily the cills are galv so they are fine.
Rearwards, the outer wings were missing but the joint between the inner wing and floor had given up in several places as had the joint between the front of the rear wheel arch and inner wing, this hadn't been apparent until cleaning off old underseal and crud.

The left side was generally better than the right.
The rear corner uprights on both sides had been replaced, complete, but unfortunately had not had the catastrophic black primer removed so this had 'floated' off the metal on a film of water which had remained under it, the panels are thicker than normal 2cv metal and had not quite gone through but have some fairly deep pits in them...
After a lot of heart searching money was spent and new cab floors, waist rail section, rear door hinges, front inner wings and a load of other bits arrived from ECAS. And a sheet of .75mm Zintec got chopped up into small bits and bent around and forced into holes I couldn't afford the whole panels for - I'd love those complete inner wing panels...!

The panel behind the passenger doors from the waist down, which forms the front of the tank and spare wheel bays, is a bit of a sandwich and water and damage had rather trashed both sides.

So they got replaced, some old galv tent pole of the right dia. got pressed into service as the rolled outer edge.
And @ that point a load of other sh*t came along and the NAZU project ground to a halt. Oh, apart from Matt Concanon producing an amazing, detailed, dating document at great effort. Thank you Matt!
