I think he was trying to remedy his head!

And the bolts worked loose!

So this has been on the road a few weeks now, just been blasting round the local area in it...

Only had one fail which was today at about 08:00 when the ignition died completely, but the starter would fire... so I hot wired it and drove home. The ignition switch was goosed - I've had this happen a lot lately. Put in a toggle switch and it is once more terrorising the roads.

Rule number 1 of any old ignition, especially if its french: it will break down. I just rip them all out in advance and replace it with a simple 1 pound switch.

I've decided I need to do some work on this to make it a bit less aggressive and a bit more usable - you have to be feeling a bit lairy to use it, especially when it's wet.

I've added an extra exhaust silencer and a good couple of gauges since the last update, and some ZX seats too.

Anyway 'Phase Two' will probably consist of the following, until I think of more:

A few more oil coolers - one to act as a bit of a heater matrix, I tried a water cooled matrix and blew it up. I also plan to put another at the front just for an extra piece of mind.

Exhaust might need rerouting and definitely needs some more joints to make it easier to work on - the down pipe / swan neck runs in one piece from the manifold down to the silencer so can be a real bastard to get off especially with it having a slip joint at the front.

I think it needs wider wheels and grippier tyres - it skates about a hell of a lot on 145 Firestones that are around 15 years old.

It also wants some sort of air box to quieten down the induction noise.

Throttle bodies want looking at - one has a bit of butterfly float and they're unbalanced.

Needs a new drive shaft as one is starting to make a bit of noise.

It wants a new gear shifter sorting out as the current one has no rubbers at one end and a knackered one at the other.

Most importantly it needs a passenger harness - drivers side uses a 4 point Sparco, passenger currently has a rubbish original one.

So currently it stands like this:

Phase 3 is will probably be a long way off but at the moment I'm thinking Roll Cage, Bucket Seats and maybe a Garrett GT15 Turbo..
