I did a lot of reading here but will now try to share some of my own fiddlings.
Still trying to build my 2CV, should be ready before the summer. Since it already feels like summer it's time to hurry.
The base was a butchered and rotten Citroën AZS from 1961. Complete underside and about 10" up had to be replaced, rear inner wings, window surround including cross beam under ventilation flap and the hinge.
Chassis is one from 2CV shitty, and indeed it is a shitty chassis, parts are welded out of line and the whole chassis was twisted. This last bit we corrected with 2 heavy guys and some long poles ;) Front axle is from Acadyane, rear from Ami.
Suspension is from Airbagit/A.I.M. industries/Chassis Tech, which is another supplier you wouldn't want to do business with. (complete untrustworthy bastards)
Engine will be Acadyane or Visa for now, but since i'm dreaming about BMW power for about 15 years, i'll keep dreaming about it some more ;)
I made a lot of pictures but because of a lack of organisation, not all at hand at the moment (and i'm to lazy to resize and/or upload).

Hi AZS,
any idea who's bringing these into Holland?
I used to sell chassis there via Leo Ruygrok, but then there were stories going around
that only those chassis with TUV approval would be approved by RDW.

There was a report in our latest 2CVGB magazine of a $ity chassis being
straightened by one person sitting on it, so the name is perhaps appropriate.
That wouldn't be much help if this happens, though... ;)

Ken there are all sorts of rumor about this but the true story is....

When a chassis is no longer available from the Original supplier (Citroen) then you are allowed to make your own chassis or use one from another supplier/manufactor.

Yes even welding a chassis yourself will be allright as I have done in the past. There will be only a visible control by the RDW ( dutch MOT) and when they like it you get your paperwork and can drive it streetlegal.....

Last week a Barbour chassis is approved here in Holland no problem at all..... (I think it is the 3. or 4. over here in the Netherlands)...

So only with Tuv approval is nonsence.....

Are you saying that you like seeing photographs of poorly designed and inadequately welded chassis?
Fair enough, here's a few for starters... ;)

p.s. Re. this video on Youtube; I'm sure I read something from the vehicle owner, claiming that the engine was running, which was why the chasiss and everything connected to it was wobbling around so much.
True or false?

Geo,
thanks for that.
It's good to know that Ruygrok have found someone at their level...

No I wasn't, I've patched up several City chassis before and I'm about to bin the terrible Frome chassis off my car which is slightly better than City and marginally worse than the GW one I had to suffer on my bamboo. I'm fully aware and experienced in crap chassis. But thanks anyway.

I meant I wanted to see more of the rest of the car...

Sorry, only had 2 photographs of that car sent to me.
The other one showed the n/s/f corner of a blue 2CV heading groundwards, a sort of one-sided version of a rusty chassis collapse.

Ah doo believe the engine was off but moderate wobbling force was applied to the rear bumper with one hand while the other held the camera.
;)
