Yeah, Russ isn't dissing an original ripple bonnet car/van, but a later one that has had an early type bonnet fitted.

Ripple bonnets are a bit pretentious and verging towards the wanky wannabe oldie kinda thing

yeah thanks for that

It's alright if it had it from the word go, but if there's one thing guaranteed to make a 2cv look half cocked its trying to make it look older than it is.

Arfur´s back home ! :D :D
picked him up with a hired trailer and a friends transit today. my new set of wheels didnt arriive on time making movement difficult but we managed with 4 shredded wheels..(I tried filling the wheels with air to be met with a spray of dirty water!

so this evening, wd40 on everything moveable, the flywheel turns :D but not sure about compression yet as theres a load of acorns in the fan housing as yet. took out the seats , the door linings and part of the rotten floor to see what was what..all fixable and frankly easier than sidney., also rubbed down some of the flaky paint on the interior, comes off easy and no rust through. everyone here thinks I´ve bought a pile of scrap , but I seriously think its in super good condition.
no photos yet as my wife has the camera
can I test the starter motor with a normal 12v battery, I hear it does no harm at all as long as the bulbs etc are disconnected?

cheers for now sig
