hes mine, , will be picked up sometime next week, pretty sound all round, front floors have to go, and the "parcel shelf is rotted, but the all important crinkle steel is all good, last on the road in 1972 !!!!. biggest problem is gonna be the rubbers and seized everything!

yes warren that I think will be the plan, super clean on the inside and underside and original but protected on the outside as much as possible. there will have to be some creative camoflage on the new patches around the belt line but not too difficult.

the original owner basically cleared out his garage to the guy I got it from along with a landrover and a diane. hes not died yet so I´ll hope to pick a bit of extra history next week.
no idea why its not been legal for so long..its quite feasible that for a number of years it was used just for around the village, as its pretty hidden away up a hillside next to a nuclear power plant!

you can see the right hand side must have been stored in the sun while the left conserves more of its paint..there must have been wind blown rain also as thats the side thats rusted through at the belt line

I think it's a bit earlier than that. 12hp engine + suicide doors.

You can tell it's a 12hp engine as the manifold has three studs where it attaches to the head each side, it looks like the metal around the centre studd (between the in/outlet) is cracked, but it's meant to be that way to allow for the expansion that occurs as the engine heats up. The later 18hp 425s had 4 studs on the manifold.

Suicide doors were phased out from December '64 onwards.

The cab roof is smooth (later vans had indentations). The indentations were introduced in Jan '64, so I'm guessing it's an early 1964 car given that its 12hp?


Only on the outside. The ratios inside will be very different. There are two styles of gearbox. 'tin top' with the gear lever at the very back of the box and 'later style' with the gear lever on the cover.
