Post Re: my 83 2cv6 'CLUB'
Well I have been parts collecting for the conversion to a BMW engine, I already have the engine but wanted a spare box and flywheel so I can work out what I need to machine to mate it all together.
I give the flywheel some loving first!!

I also picked up a gearbox which I shall use for measuring up etc and then rebuild and add the much talked about breather mods.

It was brought as spares or repair as it had unwound. after taking a look inside I know understand :-)
I found the part that had moved and wound it back on (just to try gear selection) and all seems good and ever gear and reverse selects ok.

I will give this a full strip and rebuild though and I am luckily enough to be able to crack test everything along the way. Could just do with finding the taller geared dyane diff. :-/

That's what I meant, the selector ring is threaded so nip up tight then peen or is there another technique?

yeah, spray it with Frosts "Alublast" and punt it off as recon, I prefer to just get in there with a blunt screwdriver and a big hammer ;)

13 months on and progress stalled! I am now back on it, done some work on the BMW installation with the adapter plate now made. I have started to overhaul the front brakes as going to mot the car before the engine swap. Also recently brought a 5sp GSA gearbox.

Progress! Crank spacer now machined and bush, next step is to modify the bolt size and pcd of the 2cv flywheel.
Still looking for either an LNA or Visa bell housing and shaft if anyone can help?

I could possibly draw the adapter for you? I have just measured and made sketches for them. Spacer depth will vary depending on the thickness of adaptor plate.
