Arn't the 2cv/visa head studs m8 at one end and m9 the other!??? wacko...

not really the larger coarser thread means the bit in the soft alloy can take the tension the steel nut on the stud can exert

VW used steel inserts in the soft Mag. cases in their engine for the same reason

Harley,
you might think about putting a larger (steel) washer under the head of the bolt.
The machining has removed the thick-walled alloy 'tube' originally formed in the casting, which acted to spread the clamping load exerted by the stud.
That load will now be concentrated on a narrow 'ledge' at the side of the combustion chamber...

I know there must be rhyme to their reason but it's the smaller m8 thats in the block... my beaten and abused mind woukd have thought m9 would have been better as it has more surface area... but as you pointed out with thread pitch I guess the m9 is finer to allow for torque.

I think I've figured out the best way to drive the S/C...

The alternator will run off the inner pulley mounted on the opposite exhaust manifold and the supercharger will be solid mounted with a tensioner pulley mounted off the exhaust manifold. This all means I will need to relocate the oil cooler...
Hopefully somewhere efficient with minimal trouble...
Say down low at the bottom of the intake cowl, is thete room :? Any suggestions welcome! :|
I'm just excited this modified pulley looks so good, I just hope it works!

Oilcooler replacing....

in the right frontfender, (lpgo)
in the left frontfender
in both frontfenders
in the bonnet at the front (lpgo)
in the bonnet at the rear (like Dyane air intake) (racers)
in/behind frontbumper (Lars 602TI)
in the left or right triangle opening (several 4x4's)

use your imagination, or follow the most effective/easy way to do.....
like in al my ingenering (if you can call it ingenering); design follows function, this is always the best.....

So I've been thinking about the interior, mainly lining the inside of the body and door trims...
Made a cheap purchase of an old Italian leather couch in good knick...
I think it would look cool with exposed asymmetrical stiching...
What do you think?
