A 1,3 Dyane!
That sounds freaking wonderful!!!

Do you have more pics of the engine bay and how mush did do have to convert to get space enough?
Even if I never would be able to, get a 1299 Dyane through a Danish MOT, it is ok to dream 8-)

Hey Shans - thanks for the comments....We didnt do the work and bought the car complete but looking at ours I think these are the mods - A Dyane is a lot easier to do than a 2CV as you dont need to re-align the front wings or bonnet - first off, you have to find a decent Ami Super chassis and engine - you then have to cut holes in the floor to allow the larger suspension cans to fit - cover with a new box section - also, if the original steel large capacity fuel tank is in place, the boot well needs cutting out at the front and a new section welding in to allow for the tank to sit under the well.
At the front, you need to remove the bar that holds the bonnet release and cut away the bottom of the inside front wings to allow the larger engine to sit. You then need to cobble together some form of heating arrangement, as the Super engine has a different layout to the original.
Thats about it I think - I am sure others who have done the job will say Ive missed something - I have a feeling the gearbox may also be different - but it is do-able if you can find the hardware.

Cheers NTB

As you may have seen on the tech forum, Nippy has lost 3rd gear, so thanks to Tim2cv I have got a new box these are some snaps doing the work this weekend...Got engine out within 2 hours of starting from scratch on Saturday afternoon which given we have no hoists or crane I thought was OK.

Well...bad news today...Steves 2CV failed its MOT with chassis rot on a 4 year old new Citroen chassis fitted by Richard Dalton!

Some seams look to be blowing as well as two lines of parallel holes in the bottom plate - not amused even though I waxoiled it last year and didnt see any problems then.

I shall be having words with Richard on his return from Silverstone next week!

To be fair (maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick?) Richard doesn't make them and can't really be held responsible for a (mild steel) chassis rotting out at 4 years old!

As I've posted somewhere else, I remember replacing the damn things on 12 month old cars-one car we dealt with was on its 4th chassis from new just to pass its first MOT!
