Looks like a pretty original car, much nicer to rebuild if you've got all the original unmessed with bits and the car hasn't been bodged about with too much. It doesn't even look too rotten.

looks rotten as a pear to me but with some replacement parts and some dosh it,ll be nice
love the seats btw and the coulour
a good mig welder is first on the list :)
as an aside, rubber mats retain all the water that leaks in - no good at all the trapped water just corrodes the floor
mine leaks water in through the windowscreen wiper spindles

Did a little more stripping down today and got some more pics. mainly of rust, but hey ho...

Image
Seats out, doors and roof off.

Image
Image
Sills really are in awful condition. The rear wing trim is all that's holding that bit of sill onto the car

Image
The paint is flaking off badly in a lot of places, which had me thinking it was a replacement body tub that had had a respray, but the paint underneath is white too, so god knows why it was done.

Image
I can only assume the window surround will be rotten.

Image
This wing is probably saveable.

Image
This one probably not so...

Image
This side is gone, but the other side seems ok.

Image
Classic Citroen forethought - every wire is green

Image
Chassis is flaking away, slowly but surely.

Image
What everyone loves to see around the fusebox...

Image
These bloody connector blocks are EVERYWHERE!

Image
Bottom of the o/s A-pillar was entirely made of filler

Image
Still no further to finding repair patches for these bits. I'm loathe to replace the entire surround just for a few square inches or rust.

Image
Nearly naked Beachcomber ;)

Image
More electrical tomfoolery - this seems to be some kind of secondary starter switch, going from where the wires attach to. I wonder if the ignition barrel is kaput?

Image
And this appears to be the reversing light switch. I still can't find a switch for the fog lights anywhere, even after following the wiring. it just vanishes into a rat's nest behind the dash.

Image
This is pretty much the only real damage to the upholstery. I'm planning to take it to a nearby caravan upholsterer to see if they can repair it.

That's all for now, girls and boys! 8-)

That bit above the windscreen corner ... you could just let in a bit of flat steel. Those brackets are a hangover from the earlier externally opening roof and don't do anything on later cars.
