Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
It was on Le Bon Coin. Old retired Citroen guy who was a really nice guy but it took for ages to get it. A bit of bartering and then waiting for my cheque to be cashed and then his packing etc etc, 2 1/2 weeks I waited but very much worth it. Chuffed to bits it all works now (should do with new regulator, dynamo, polished terminals et al.

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
I can't quite believe it.... I wanted the Control Technique (MOT) to give me a list of To Do's so I could get on with it and get it passed. But the "Little Fourgonnette" actually passed 1st time The guy was very sympathetic and I had to rev the engine to try and get the headlamps to register in the machine (they didn't) so he finished the test and then drove his car in to register the lights working But it passed with attention to the lights (how the hell do you make them brighter, already have new 6 volt lamps) and the front wheel bearings.... plus corrosion underneath but I Knew all of these already. Off to the prefecture now to get him registered in my name (you need the MOT certificate to do this, chicken and egg type of thing). Great feeling though, 1st MOT since 2006 and it past with a bit of tinkering along the way. Attachment:

The brakes worked perfectly and I have not done any work on these. Attachment:

2 years of worry free driving - but I am going to register it as a collectors car which means the MOT is every 5 years.... can you believe that Attachment:

Congratulations on gaining a CT! Carte grise collection; doesn't that restrict you to your department & its immediate neighbours?

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Not sure, will find out. But either way it is not too much of a bother as I don't think I would go much further anyway. But will check for the restrictions before I go ahead.
cheers

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
Great news, My Dyane is on Catre Gris collection - I have looked into it and can not see the disadvantage - many advantages. For insurance if on Carte Gris collection - try AMV - I have both my Solex and Dyane on same Ancient Vehicle insurance - dead cheap and no resistrictions if not main vehicle in the family

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250
What a day, CT in the morning and registered in my name after lunch. No hassles at all. The lady at the prefecture asked if I wanted a Carte Gris de Collection so I said yes.
All registered in my name so next are the number plates. I want the proper split silver on black I think, where is the best place for these?
