Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250 I was just tidying the wheels up on my 1970 AZU to make him look more presentable for sale. This is what they looked like which shocked me a little after getting used to Rene II with his gleaming grey wheels Attachment:

Wire brushed them using a whole wire brush up on just three wheels  Attachment:

And primered them all but hurriedly getting them into the garage as the rain was about to come in. Attachment:

AND THEN - this morning a guy calls to want and come and see it, this afternoon. Arrrgh. So quickly out with the sprayer, mix up the paint and a VERY quick top coat. Got them in the garage now with a couple of fan heaters.  Attachment:

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250 I actually thought I could sell the wheels on their own for near €1000. I might offer them to that guy on ebay and tell him there is still a little bit of profit in them  Just waiting for them to harden a little then back on the car for the big reveal

Re: Rene - The 1970 AZU AK250 That is it - final post on René I. Just sold him to a Charcuterie from Biarritz. His new home will be the butchers shop with the logos on the side. A Basque Fourgonnette. Chuffed to bits as I could not afford having the two in the garage. So on with René II
