Re: RDP 104Y the wife's new wheels
I was pussy footing about doing a KP. But its a piece of piss. Next time spend £40 on the drift set, print vikings guide and diy!! So simple
I agree 100 is reasonable. But caravan tony is a business man and isnt very popular for all the right reasons, so probably trying to sweeten you up tbh That aside, i was having a chat with someone in the 2cv trade who doesnt sell parts, but was commenting on how crap some of the 2cv city parts are, that hed bought a set of wheels that werent round, did caravan care? Probaby not. Well only the slice of profit.
As for our favoured supplier, he has a passion about selling decent spares. If he thinks its shit he wont sell it to you!!!
Stay clear of the 'bernies' or the trade,
Just as an example, a while back russ, chris and I where looking at a 'city restoration, which id met the owner off. He was very happy with it, doesnt rust much; so i said ' filler never rusts does it'. He was so pissed off he stormed off!!! Now when the three of us looked at this car, there was filler everywhere. Even in a wheel. Think how cheap a wheel must be to them!!!

Re: RDP 104Y the wife's new wheels
I've done a bit of trawling through some old pics... You asked in your text about the mileage - when I collected the car on 12-03-2006 the recorded mileage stood at 98,459 & on 03-01-2007 the mileage stood at 5,113. When I took ownership there was a fair amount of paperwork with it - recent work included, IIRC, new king pins & 123 ignition fitted by Jeff Colmer @ Totally 2CV. As with all my vehicles, I keep any receipts or history in a folder which I'd have passed on when it was sold...

Re: RDP 104Y the wife's new wheels
I'd thoroughly recommend the chap at tower citroen for chopping up and altering your arms. Top chap and great job.
I run Avo shocks but they are probably overkill - how about modding your standard shocks? (on tech forum i think) with thicker oil. I ran mine low with standard springs for two years without too much trouble, do like the stiffer springs (& spacers) in it now though.
If I was to start mine from scratch again on a budget I would get the arms done, change oil in my shocks, wind it down 60% and get the longer tie rod ends. Easy and the greatest expense would be getting someone to alter the arms or pay them in beers/cake.
For your engine, change the oil regularly, set timing with a strobe and use purflux filters. Use NGK plugs & bougicord leads, if you can make the expense then the ECAS super coil seems a good bet and that comes with a set of leads - but a bit pricey.
I have electronic ignition on mine, both 123 on lomax (2nd one it has eaten) and Luminition on the 2cv, luminition is a bit old school but works awesome for me and is my preferred.
As mentioned no need to worry about unleaded, it is fine for them! Use super if you're feeling like a high roller.
probably the best place to get a feel is ask the questions on here.. good move.
Slammed dyanes = sick

Wow, catching up on forum lots last few days, seeing the pic below brings back memories!! That was the bubble car museum sept 2006 as i can see my old granada estate in the background. Great camp, as i remember. Also have fond memories of this car at Jono's buxton camp same year, happily grounding all over the place on the off - road drives
