Almost finished stripping it. Tomorrow the suspension will be off and I can commence with its viking style burial as I set fire to the remains and float it down the river Arun. Or put it in the skip, however the mood takes me.

It's in a very sorry state, makes me a little sad seeing them like this. What with it being so well loved by the last owner.

Poor thing fell in haft when I put it back in the shed.

I wish I had more monies so I could repair the shell, but I dont.

Pity really as the shell doesn't seem that bad. I've owned worse.

Owned maybe but not repaired - this thing is waaaay beyond! I couldn't find a single panel that wasn't shot, it has rust in places I've never seen 2cvs rust, like the C pillar behind the door locks and the roof beam

What's that rod on the lower bulkhead, just below the master cylinder mount? Never seen one of those before. Looks like something to do with the throttle control.

yep - it's the linkage to take the floor mounted accelerator movement to the lhs of the rod operated carb.

Its a natty bit of Belgian design that lets the rod of the floor mounted "go"pedal line up with the single choke carb for RHD cars. On LHD cars the rod from the pedal goes directly to the carb (simplicity itself). The carb rod is shorter than the LHD cars and there is a mini rod on the drivers side. There is also a special cutout in the RHS front wing to allow movement of this linkage.

:)
