Another year and another mot pass. Didn't even get advised on my steering rack this year it must have fixed itself because I've not touched it! :lol:

Yeah it was :)

got advised on "slight" play in steering rack. It's completely wrecked that means. There is a lot of play!

Can it be repaired or shall i just fit another axle?


how much play is a little? as mine went from about 2cm at the wheel to gone in a matter of seconds.

my freind jeff hudspith has an ak van f reg, his rack was worn whilst in europe it slipped the teeth and he lost steering :!:

there is adjustment on the rack but its difficult to access as its situated under the rack below the steering pinion
jeff had to cut a hole in the floor to get to his
his fan burst too, whist in germany he made one out of an old aluminium pot
