Worked out my fuel economy after fitting 1-2 spark version 2 and I am gaining around 2.0 kms per litre extra. This will improve as almost all the driving done so far has been at 105kph for hours at a time with 4 people - 751 kms both ways to Saint Jean de Luz. :) :)

Nice score I guess... all do to the map sensor.....

How was your oil temp driving for this long and speed???
I need an extra oilcooler otherwise my oil starts cooking.....

Max oil temp was 95 deg C and that is having a sensor in the rocker cover where the oil return from the turbo feeds. When I do my 200km run to the hospital max oil is around 80 deg C but ambient temp is lower round here.

Fitted variable boost control valve today - now can go from 0.5 bar to 1.2 bar - at the moment set around 0.7 bar - no knock but will try on motorway with laptop next to me maybe at the weekend...

You can fit the controller at the dashboard, adjusting boost at the fly/on the run 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Next a intercooler?????

p.s. Do you still want a run at a dyno??? at Burton, I'm going to deliver some 1-2-spark markII soon and 1 guy wants to go to the Burton day with it comparing it with 123 ignition 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

If Burton day is still June 9th I cannot go because in LeMans for 24hour test day.

I was thinking of doing dyno run just before SPA. Maybe driving up on Thursday before SPA Dyno run on Friday and then go to SPA that day.
If your Big Bang Theory will be after spare then seperate days for your car and mine.....

People want big bang but if everything is in balance and no knock etc then 8000 rpm should be OK - maybe no big bang.............

I have already crashed 1 (turbo)engine, rattle of dead end crash... in Dutch called "een vastloper" do to high oiltemp doing a hill at 120kmh where a normal 2cv does just 90....... then I mounted the extra oilcooler...

I think a standard 2cv engine doesn't do 8000 rpm because the valves won't close anymore so you won't have power anymore......

Thats why race 2cv's have lighter pushrods and stronger/double valvesprings...

Did run down the motorway today and WOT and 0.7-0.8 boost and 135kph and no knock so no need to alter advance curve.
Was looking at one of these - will have to make mock up in wood to see if I can fit it somewhere.

Luv your work Chris!
I alwasy thought that on a 2cv it would be nice to modify the fan cowling and mount a short wide intercooler as low as possible in front of the fan then cut vents/holes in the bonnet where the license plate would sit 8-)
I have nfi if that is possible for a dyane!
Here is some great reading material for you on vents and airflow:

And also a couple on intercoolers, there are a few more on this site:

Hope this helps!
