Oh Bollox, I've gone and done it again and impulse bought a van - sits on a very nice galvy chassis - some bits are OK, other bits are rough and more bits have seen the administrations of a fair dollop of Mr Isopon.....I suspect this will be a long term work in progress.

Has this had a very very recent paint job? I'm sure that's the same car Gary Dicks was selling recently? but in Jaune cedrat? How did you come by it? (assuming it's the same van)

nice van :D ,mind you,all vans are nice. They have more character than a car :D .What colour is that?I looked at an AK 400 in Surrey before I bought my van,I am sure it was that colour too.If not,it was mighty close :D .

Bought it from some guy in Witney - I think it was the one you saw before with red oxide on yellow as I have a copy of a car & classic advert it was on - it has been painted with a roller using 2 pack cellulose and with a matting agent - looks half decent but covers a multitude of sins!
It drives nicely - came up to home via the cotswolds and fosse way and held 80 - 90Kph nicely if a little loud....

These are the pics used in the 2008 2CVTV advert

Russ kindly drove to London town to have a look at for me - I remember phoning him from a very wet Rochefort meeting to get the low down on it...

Thats the beast....the history with it shows it has had a lot of money spent on the mechanicals over the years - pity they didnt spend more on the bodywork!

I used to see it driving around Canterbury when I was at college maybe 8 years ago, when Neil asked me to look at it in 2008 It was serious crap. Matey wanted something like £750 for it, but it was only worth weighing in really, I don't know where it went after that but it recently resurfaced with Gary after what I assume to be a comprehensive restoration, although evidently not a cosmetic one, for £2500. That was about a month or so ago, when it was still Jaune Cedrat and red-lead.

Dave - what tyre pressures do you find the best and what make and size tyres do you run?
