I'm getting it MOTd this week, hopefully.

I'll ask the garage who are doing the MOT to advise on the state of the floors, chassis and wheel arches.

I've been offered 2,000 with MOT.

Hi Neil

It passed the MOT, but needed a few things doing first - new king pin, driveshaft (I think second hand), welding to n/s bulkhead and o/s top seat.

I'm afraid I don't have the knowledge to give you an accurate idea about floors, rear arches, bonnet hinge etc. I'm just trying to sell the car for my mother. If you're able to, I suggest you come and view the car and have a test drive. The garage have given me a detailed service history that goes back to 1997. It lists all the work that dad had done.

I drove the car for the second time today (first time about 10 years ago) from Wingham in Kent, to Camberwell in South East London, where it now resides. It was a very different drive from my golf. I think I got the hang of it by the time I reached London. I didn't go over 45mph, which was probably near top speed.

Hi Neil

Still no takers on the van. I asked a local 2cv enthusiast (who I met by chance) to look over it and he said much the same as you. He was able to tell me that the van was built in Belguim and that the chassis is sound. He said this model, with rectangular headlights, was only manufactured for a short period.

If you'd be interested in the van at a lower price (say £800-£850), get back in touch.

I hope that you find a better 2cv than dad's to replace the one you sold.
