Yeah, what is wrong with a 435cc engine ??
Nice van, I like it!

Bye the way... it is an AZU (250) not an AK 250 !
Same like mine, only mine is from 1974, so it has round headlights.
But these square headlights are from the period it is build in, so I would keep it as it is, like the color sceme it has now.

Well, the hinge didn't wake me up after all... but I dreamt about a new sticker for the 435-engined van:

I think I will refurb the engine... and excuse my ignorance, but what's the difference between the AZU and AK? I thought AK's were the later models?

See Jeroen Cat's site:
http://cats-citroen.net/citroen_2cv/2cv ... nette.html

many people refer to the 250 as AK 250, but it is not correct.
Actually it does not matter how you call your van, as long as you are happy with it.
I only found this not so long ago, before that I also called my van AK 250

Owner of AK 350 and AZAM 6. Participated in Raid Lapland 1998 I think. See Rik Janssens on FB

Here's some pics I took of the engine when I got it out of the van last week.

And here it is when I separated it from the gearbox.

That flywheel's been a spider's playground for quite a while.

As has the rest of the engine.

Could't find an id tag on the engine. All I could see was this:

thats the cast mark with the part No AM#### means it was originally for the AMI

There are date wheels on the front or rear of the sump it will have a number stamped in the middle(year) of a 12 segment wheel each of the 12 segments has a pip for the week so if the mould was being used in the may the 5th segment would have a pip in it

The engine M4 cases? are the heat exchangers parallel or splayed at the back like a D*lly etc? what carb is it

Thanks for the info, Sean. The heat exchangers are parallel. Don't know about the carb - I'll have a look at the weekend.
