No wonder decent second-hand rear doors are hard to come by...

Do you have some pictures of the prgress of your project?
I would like to see how you are doing :)
I .m.o. the new padding strips are much better than the ones Citroen used in the time 2CV was built.
So no worries about moister I think .

Post Re: 1976 AZU250
Hello everybody!

I've been away for quite a while, but I'm happy to say that I'm now back... trying to pick up the pieces of a project that had to be put to one side while I attended to urgent matters.

My van has had no attention for 2½ years and is looking a bit sorry for itself. Thankfully it was stored in a dry barn on a farm.

Last week I moved it to my home and re-started my work on the bodyshell.

I'd more or less finished the welding jobs before the enforced lay up. Now it's a case of fixing up the surface rust spots and painting it.

I also removed the tank from my white Special, and took out the fuel gauge thingy.

Can anybody tell me how to repair this?

Welcome back Smiffy. Bin the fuel gauge, a new one from ECAS is cheap enough.

An original Magnetti Marelli

A copy for half the cost

Just solder a piece of wire between the two brass strips.

That will work perfectly.
Or just bend the pieces more together and solder them together not using a wire. Worked for me. A quick and easy repair.
