Well,at last,I finally finished my red Spesh.MOT'd yesterday, flew through.Just a few minor finishing bits, but its ready for the road.
Yesterday was the first time I'd driven it since October 2010 and I must admit, apart from needing to re align the steering wheel,it drove like a new car.No rattles or squeeks,no vibrations, tracked straight as a die.I am really pleased seeing its my first one.

I have'nt posted any pics of it as I went along because I am sure you have seen it all before.
Basically, the car had a new chassis before I bought it,and the floors and sills were done at the same time. Why they didnt do the rear seat belt mounts at the same time I will never know

so the body stayed on the chassis.
As this was my first project,I decided to go right through everything,so fitted new brake pipes right through, new discs, overhauled the calipers with new seals and pistons, new rear slave cylinders, linings and springs(they are making a loud noise at present which i hope will go as they bed in) and a new master cylinder.
The engine has new cylinders and pistons, valves lapped in,crank seals changed, oil pump changedjust the rotors)clutch,alternator,starter,coil,123 ignition all new.Gearbox has been Pembro'ed as it was grating going into third.
The interior has been painted in a kind of Gris Rose to brighten it up.Not sure if the dash will stay that colour, may go back to black, not sure yet.
The seats are out of an Ami,bought them of Viking last year,Spanners kindly brought them back when he collected his Ami.Have been re covered and I love them.Really comfy, and they recline, which is great,as I have a back issue and I like to be positioned with the back rest virtually straight up
The suspension has been overhauled with new bits, shockers replaced, steering arms and track adjuster changed, new driveshafts and boots. The king pins were fine,so they were left as is.
So,now its done and out of the garage, time to move the van in.Started on that last night, will post some pics.
