There is one thing i have noticed while getting the car back on the road, is the quality of parts are really really good, i have just fitted on the n/s front door a new reproduction sliding window rubber.
In fact i only ordered the one due to the fact it was a reproduction part, it was easy to fit and is perfect!!!
2CVGB are spending 28k on tooling to remake the Dyane inner rear wing panels crazy but great!!! is the market for these panels fairly small?
Well all of this makes a refreshing change, all of the parts in the air cooled VW market are mostly terrible and cost loads, do not take this wrong the air cooled VW industry is much bigger with more money floating about..... so why are the parts so terrible.

My eye's have been opened WIDE....

Indeed we are spoiled :)

had the pleasure of trying to fit side steps to a Bay, the puckered pieces of metal that arrived as the extensive spares were consigned to the scrap bin and i made it up in bits. mind i dont miss the thicker metal to weld to

ben,
two more questions for you...
Did you alter the positions of the front bump stops when you lowered the car, or remove them altogether?
Do you carry 2 spare wheels, or just another one to match the front tyre size? ;)

ken.
