Time for the engine.. i was surprised to find all four valves were very badly seated, so new rings a good hone and the valves all sorted the heads were torqued back down and then it was time for tinware....

I must admit building up the engine was very enjoyable ...

All of my parts boxes are almost empty now...

The flywheel was very badly scored.... so needed a quick skim....

New clutch on and it was time to get the motor back in...

So the cross box fitted and connected up, all of the frame work for the air shocks got bolted into place, the coil and breather box cleaned and fitted...
The heater cables was shot so the parts stash for the GT pro preformer got raided and the heaters were some working perfectly....

Next step the carb....

James,
I'd doubt that, as the quality of the original parts was usually much better.

For example, the original M7 bolts for mounting the body to the chassis had a tapered lead, which you won't find on any replacements.

Also, some knife edges nowadays seem to be made of monkey metal...
This is how all four knife edges on a recently rebuilt Dyane looked after 1 year/17,000 miles, so Jessie is putting the original '100,000 miles plus' pins back onto her car.

his Dyane Ken ;) haha!

Just read this thread from the start - you have done an awesome job Ben! Can't wait to see it finished :D
